These K Type thermocouples are designed to be inserted in the friction material of the brake pad to allow you to see the exact temperature of the pad material / rotor interface. The 1/8" x 1/8" cupper slug is bonded to the thermocouple wires and allows for easy pad or brake shoe insertion.
